Multi Channel Analyzer

Synchronised multi-channel data acquisition for microphones and accelerometers in testing and troubleshooting.

Multi Channel Analyzer
When noise and vibration problems have more than one cause, measuring one signal at a time isn't enough. SONITA DAQ records sound, vibration, and other signals at the same time, so you can see how they connect and find the real source of the problem. Simply connect microphones, accelerometers, tachometers, and other sensors, and every channel is measured in sync with 24-bit precision. Choose from 4, 8, or 16 channels, connected over USB, LAN, or Wi-Fi. Results can be viewed in real time or analyzed after testing with Time Waveform, FFT, Octave, and Waterfall tools, helping you quickly spot abnormal frequencies and operating conditions. Set limits for automatic OK/NG results, record real sound during testing for later review, and export reports to Excel in a format customized for your team. From motor, fan, pump, and gearbox testing to bearing analysis, NVH testing, product quality checks, and research and development, SONITA DAQ helps engineers measure together, analyze deeper, and find the root cause faster.

Key features

  • Many synchronised channels
  • Sound and vibration together
  • FFT and octave analysis
MultiVibe V1.3: new software

MultiVibe V1.3: new software

MultiVibe is the measurement and analysis program for the SONITA multi-channel analyzer, designed for vibration of rotating machines based on ISO 10816. The new interface follows the work step by step: Setup, Calibration, Measurement, Analysis, Report and Monitor. Setup: connect the device, load or save a test profile, and enter machine, accelerometer and limit details. Calibration: check each accelerometer's sensitivity and amplitude before measuring. Measurement: measure all channels together, with RMS or P-P results for each channel and pass/fail against the limit.
Analysis and report

Analysis and report

Open a saved measurement, choose an accelerometer and a parameter (acceleration, velocity or displacement), and view the time waveform and frequency spectrum. The report page summarises the measurement setup and the results of every channel, ready to export.
Live monitor

Live monitor

Monitor shows the selected accelerometer live: peak-to-peak, RMS, time history and frequency spectrum, with Start and Stop buttons, for continuous checks on running machines.

Feature option: post-processing analysis

Recorded data can be analysed further after the measurement with four optional tools: FFT, octave band, time history and waterfall.
FFT analysis

FFT analysis

A signal that looks irregular can be broken down with the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to reveal hidden patterns and its frequency spectrum. FFT is widely used in sound and vibration analysis, for example for quality evaluation of cars and household appliances and for detecting unusual noises that point to a fault.
Octave band analysis

Octave band analysis

Splitting the signal into 1/1 or 1/3 octave bands shows which frequencies are higher or lower than they should be. These abnormal bands can then be analysed further to find the root cause of the problem.
Time history

Time history

Time history shows a sound or vibration event as a waveform, with time on the horizontal axis and signal level on the vertical axis. Frequency analysis is based on this data, and unwanted periods can be cut out so that only the part of interest is analysed.
Waterfall analyser

Waterfall analyser

The waterfall analyser shows how the power spectrum changes over time. Each spectrum is calculated with the selected frequency resolution and overlap and drawn in a 3D graph along a time axis, with a colour scale for high and low levels. The graph can be rotated, zoomed and moved.
